It is with great pride that I welcome you to the 2017 Waroona Show.
It is my second year as President and I thank everyone on the committee for their encouragement and support over the past two years. This will be the 87th Waroona Show, an event which has grown to become the largest one day show in Australia. The Show attracts thousands of people to Waroona each year and is a significant event in the Peel Region This would not be possible without the support of the local community and its volunteers.
The Waroona Show happens every year without fail due to the fantastic efforts of a hardworking, experienced and dedicated group of volunteers. These volunteers spend countless hours over many months working in a variety of roles to bring this event to fruition. As show day comes around we gain another wave of volunteers who assist in many ways and take on a variety of jobs to ensure the show’s success. Please take the time to acknowledge them and thank them for their efforts.
I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate and say thankyou to Nick, Tony, Barbara and Maria DeRosa from DeRosa’s Highway Motors. This is their 50th year of exhibiting at the Waroona Show commencing their first show in 1968 and not missing a show ever since. What an amazing effort and we thank them for their support. You can visit their display at the east end of the grounds near the Marchetti Shed.
In closing, I urge everyone to have a wonderful and relaxing Show day enjoying the many and varied activities, features and displays on offer.
