ALL DAY
History display - Bill Rafferty
Farriers Hot Shoeing Competition:
The farriers competition is run by West Australian Farriers Association. Some of the most talented farriers in the state and inter-state put their skills to the test in events that include, speed, precision and quality work.
The competition will be judged by Mr Gary Darlow who hails from England. Gary is one of the world's most well known farriers. Being able to get Gary to come over has attracted some of Australia's most talented farriers to come and compete.
Throughout the day you will see horses shod hunter style and handmade shoes forged out of steel. You will see traditional roadster shoes pounded out in the Two Man Forging event where the fireman and striker participate together.
While all the classes have a tight time limit the competitors will need to produce quality work as all will be judged by Gary’s watchful and experienced eye.
